On 25th July 2018, the Ministry of Tourism and Projects Malta Limited inaugurated a ‘state of the art’ car park at Marsaxlokk.

This new carpark offers 250 car park spaces and the investment spent on it amounts to 1.5 Million Euro.

Apart from helping to address the huge parking problem at Marsaxlokk, this was also an innovative, environment-friendly project since this project includes also an underground water reservoir which can store up to 760 cubic meters of rain water and which will then be used for irrigation.

Adding to this, the carpark was built by the use of recycled construction material.

The inauguration of this carpark marks the end of the first phase of the Marsaxlokk Regeneration Project which will also include the renovation of Xatt is-Sajjieda and the regeneration of the zone known as ‘Il-Magħluq’.
